This was something I just found, I didn't race in it but I think it's really cool how this city let them race in city streets and not on the normal blocked off parking lot.

Yes it is fun to race on city streets... just getting less common....

there used to be several races in the northwest area that used or partially used city streets... in Springfield OR, Lacey WA, Corvallis OR, Hood River OR and I think maybe John Day OR.

now to the best of my knowledge there is only one... Hood River (April 2nd this year) GREAT & VERY DIFFICULT track on city streets around the Full Sail Ale brewery...
this track has at LEAST a 40 foot elevation difference between the top an bottom of the track... a real challenge to have any battery left at the end of an hour..
you climb about 8 or 10 feet after the start finish line then suddenly drop about 30-40 feet in less than an 1/8 mile.. then have to climb for the rest of the track to get to the start/finish line....real challenge to conserve battery... and still many cars average close to 20-25 mph....

I miss the Corvallis race, it was close to 1 mile long... over some of the WORST pavement ever patched (pothole after pothole patches.. like driving on cobblestones)

a REAL test of car structural integrity AND drivers "will power"...

I still have a scar from where a zip-tie rubbed through my rain jacket (we drive in OREGON RAIN, I've had 1" of water sloshing around the bottom of my car before)
warm jacket, and flannel shirt to finally gouge a hole in my side the size of a quarter... but WOW!!!! what a fun track...

I hope "street tracks" make a comeback...
