Would I be able to race without a transponder? I don't care about the laps so no one has to count them. I just want to take it around the track to get some pictures and video for my senior project presentation.

arcflash, If your car is registered as an Electrathon Member then I think it would be OK. I'm not putting this race on but if you just want to take some laps and pictures I don't see a problem. If you want to count your laps then you can check with me at our big white truck and 20' double decker trailer and see if I have any extra transponders. If so I would let you use one for free. To mount it you need a chunk of angle/channel or ??? iron that is mounted horizontally with a 3/8" hole in it that sticks out about 4". There can not be any metal under where it will be mounted. This needs to be very secure so it won't break and cause damage to the transponder. Mike

The rain sure made it a hard race, I'm guessing more than a few potentiometers shorted out.

Great race put on by Thurston High and Mark Bray. Thanks again to Aaron and Mark from Centennial for their lap counting without any flaws. The food for the racers was great along all of the support that was seen.

See you all next weekend in Pasco WA. for another fun filled day.

This was a fun race, but a very cold day. While weighing in drivers after the race I saw a number of people shivering so bad they could barely stand. I thought I was cold till I saw this.

Yes, a combination of temperature in the 40's, continual rain, and deep (up to 6") puddles that sprayed the driver and all around with cold water. This made the spectators cold. The drivers were even colder since we were driving in mostly open cars doing 20-32 mph with the wind in our face/bodies.
The only race I have been colder at is the one a few years ago at Cascade Locks when on top of this there was a wind of about 30 mph and the temp was in the 30's.
