Who has driven to an electrathon race in an electric car?

At the PIR race in Portland we had two people arrive in electric cars. My red Think and the Stapletons blue Think (even if my car is the better color) were there. As far as I know no one else has ever gone to a Electrathon race in an electric car. Has anyone else in any area ever drove one to a race?

yes I did, in 2010 at Lacey. I drove my Geo Metro EV the Dolphin. And four times in 94 when I towed a trailer with two electrathon, with my first EV, a Fiat x19. Dave

Last year my wife drove to the Eugene Celebration race in August in her red Think--one of the first 20 in Oregon. Somehow I can not figure out how to haul our trailer and 14+ cars behind it to a race. Mike

I would not have made it pulling the trailer. We did bring more than one vehicle.

I drove my parents blue Think to the PIR race this last weekend on Saturday. I've driven it a couple of times and it's a blast to drive, plus people give you great looks when driving around. I highly recommend riding in one if you get the chance.
Oh and Aaron, you said above that the red one is better? Wrong, my parent's car can go faster than yours. Hurry up and get the upgrade already :]

I got the upgrade done on Friday. It makes a world of difference on the freeway! It no longer struggles to get above 55, will drive happy at 65 now. Did not have a chance to go top speed, so not sure how far that has moved.
Now that the weather is better I am getting questions almost every day about the car. It seems that when the windows are up fewer ask when stopped at a light. It is fun to see the questions/responses about it.

On the freeway without the upgrade we do a very comfortable 60+unless there is a head wind or hill to go up. Usually ~65 and have hit 73 (slight downhill for about a mile) without the upgrade. How much is the upgrade and did it need to go to the shop in Portland for it?

Mike, the upgrade is a warranty tweak on the cars programing. It does not affect the power in E mode but does in D mode. it is done through the ALDL connector with a computer that has the Think programing in it. Remember that your speed-o reads 5 to 6 MPH fast, so when it says you are doing 60 you are only doing 55, the cars passing you are looking to see if it is a 70 year old that is afraid to drive at highway speed. I was never not satisfied with the power of my car other than on the freeway. The new programing is a huge improvement.
I don't know if there is any way other than bringing your car up to here to Hawthorn Automotive. There is more than one Think down in Eugene, maybe you could bribe one of the techs with a dinner out if the came down for the day and did your upgrades.
