Anyone done a in-car charging setup? Ideally you'd plug a external charger into the car to charge up your batteries before or after a race?
I've got ideas for a charging system for my car to charge in parallel but still change it over to series for racing.

Zaine;
Talk to Jim from Monroe H.S. he did it in the BEAUTIFUL plywood streamliner he had @ PIR last year...
HOWEVER:
he did have a switch you had to "flip" to charge (to put batteries in parallel for charging) that didn't get flipped once...
There was a BIG "POP" and "FLASH" and then a major overnight re-wiring job...
probably best to find a 24v charger...
hope to see you @ one of the races in may ( I won't make hood river or pasco... have to work on those days...bummer)

Can't do a 24 volt charger, my car has a 36 volt system now like Cloud.
And in my opinion, charging in series is only worth it if you keep swapping the batteries around each time you charge them up.
Otherwise the battery on the positive end gets the better charge, everything else after that battery gets less of a charge thus leading to a weaker battery (or batteries depending on voltage) later on.
Parallel fixes that issue, pretty much like Mike has the battery truck currently set up right now.
