Here are the result of our race at Lane Community College in Eugene OR on Saturday 3/17. The track has about a 30 foot elevation change two hairpin turns and 3 tight "S" curves. There were two crashes. Two Willamette cars crashed (one's steering broke) and another HS team hit my car driven by another adult and flipped him, but he was put upright--all looked good--so he continued to race and took 3rd in Open. Willamette had a number of issues so hope to improve dramatically by the next race on April 21st in Richland, WA on a go-kart track. We have 6 short track races (2 on go-kart tracks) this season and then the two day 4 race event at Portland International Raceway over Memorial Day weekend. Over all Willamette is building 13 new short track cars and a new long track car to go with the two we have. We also have 4 open cars for a total of 20 cars this year.
I will try to post results for all of our races as well as the High School season standings. We keep track of all 6 short track races and add up the finishes to determine the season standings. The lower the final total the better place you earn. Then at PIR we hand out NW championship trophies.
