April 3, 2010 Hood River Oregon, street race!

The next NW race coming up is a street race in Hood River Oregon.  There are long straight areas, very sharp turns and a huge elevation change.  This is a very cool track.

Is the event times similar to MHCC? David Douglas doesn't want to be late or nothing.

Jeff Blackman is running this one so it is really ip to him. I know he is planning on being strictly on schedule because of the street closure issue. In general all races start at 11:00 though.

Jeff may speek up here soon.

Hey everyone.  Hood River was wet but fun to drive on.  Again, thank my mom, she took I believe 118 photos of the entire race.  Hope everyone enjoys them!

I still need to put about another 40 or so photos up, I need to go to bed now.  I'll get the other ones up later this week.

Zaine,
Thanks to you and your family. You guys in two years have turned into leaders/teachers faster than anyone I have ever seen. Thank your mom for all the pictures and we will see you guys in Eugene in two weeks.

This letter was sent out today by Mike Hodgert:

THERE ARE A COUPLE OF THINGS THAT WE ARE STILL WORKING OUT BUT THIS IS CLOSE.

We have two cars with the number 45 at the Hood River race. Springfield and Hood River Valley HS---Transponder #'s 48 & 18? If you can respond with the correct car numbers that would be great

Also transponder #9 was not signed up right. We had two cars with the same number and and too many cars from Willamette. Does anyone have transponder #9? Or if your car was not listed and was there--please give the transponder number so we can find the error and correct it.

Please let me know if you see any more errors as far as cars, number, if you want to list your drivers, etc.
Mike

As you may or may not know, when we see the car pass accross the timing grid we do not see your car number, we see the transponder number.  We are having trouble when teams are moving a transponder from one car to another without telling us at the front line timing table.  Telling someone else, your teacher or the inspector does no good, we must be told at the front timing area!

We had over 40 cars on teh track Saturday.  At no other race, except PIR, have we counted this many cars all at one time.

Aaron

Has anyone heard how the driver that was taken away from the race is doing? Would be nice to know if they are okay.

I emailed Jeff Blackman, the teacher from Hood River the school the boy was from and he said that he was at school today and fine. Sore and a little bruised but doing OK.

We have not heard from the lady that refused to move off of the corner and then moved closer to the track and was hit when a car failed to make the turn. We did hear that she went to the hospital later but have not heard anything since that I am aware of.

Strange, I have been racing Electrathon for 15 years and have seen 2 red flags. Then we had two in one race.
