We had our 4th race of the season on 1/29/11, It was a beautiful sunshine Florida day. It was at Brandon High School on their oval running track. Once again we took first place overall. Though for the first time we lost a heat, the first one by 1 lap. Our competition is getting better and better every race. Here is a video from the race.
We always have 2 races in a day. The first clockwise and the second counterclockwise, This helps with even tire wear.
The organizers of our events are high school based, so our first race of the year was in September. We have a race about once a month, with a total of 8 for the year.
In the NW, our races are 'school based' as well but since a number of us cut up all of our cars each year and then build new ones we spend the first several months building cars. Our first race of the season is March 12, then we go 'till April 9th and then it is nearly every weekend until June. We then have a couple of two day races in the summer.
