We ran 8 out of the 10 events. Each event consisted of 2 races. All but one were 1 hour long.
The Super Coupe/Synkromotive combination is fast but we could not keep the tires on the car. We dropped out of the lead four times from flat tires, twice in the final 10 minutes of a race.
We solved our tire problems and took first place in class and overall in the last 3 events.
Cliff, Great to know you are doing well on short tracks. Sorry about all of the talk about AC/DC systems this fall. Hopefully that is over with some research by others. It would be great if you ever find time and $$$ for you to come to Oregon/Washington for some of out short track races. We have several competitive cars out here and it would be fun to see how your 48 volt AC compares to the Clouds 24 volt DC (or mine). We also have a lot of student cars that on good years are racing up there with the Cloud cars and winning some races outright not just in student classes. Mike
Hi Mike,
I would love to come race out west. Portland International Raceway is a fun track and I would enjoying running the Super Coupe there.
Wow. 30 HS and 13 Open class at the Memorial Day races. That is great. Of course, it would be hard to get much further from Florida!
Our farthest races last season were Pensecola (10 hours) and Quitman Georgia (8 hours). I wonder how much it would cost to stick the Super Coupe in a box and Uship it?
