Sam and I have been having a really annoying time with our double break handle. The barrels strip all the time and there are other problems. Are there other breaking systems that work better?
At Willamette we use two handles, one for each side. We use 'universal' motorcycle handles available and most motorcycle shops. They have more throw (pull more cable when closed) and are fairly durable. We have very few failures and have used some of the for well over 10 years. They fit 7/8" tubing the same as the light weight and easily broken bike handles. With the added throw they are easier adjust so they fully release without drag and yet will completely lock up the brakes before being fully engaged. Good luck.
