With the start of another exciting race season at HCC Brandon on 11/3 Saturday 10am, featuring a special FREE sausage lunch in honor of our dear friend Curtis Hooker, it is good to take a moment and see where we have come over the last year.
We now have:
1. a Big League Automated Scoring System courtesy of USAF, Gulf Power,
Rodney Schreck and numerous others like the Calders of Tallahassee and the Moffetts of Valrico .
2. We have added a team the Northeast High Electric Vikings Welcome.
3. Our ETO Electrathoneers attended the first ever Arduino Microcontroller Workshop @USF put on by the IEEE Tampa Bay Robotics and Automation Chapter giving our students a heads up on instrumenting an Electrathon with an Arduino. Check out the pix below of our Electrathoneers at the IEEE Microcontroller Workshop And guess what, the workshop will be featured the 3/2013 Edition of IEEEs Robotics and Automation Magazine RAM. The magazine is distributed in 120 Countries. https://plus.google.com/photos/116229850491186398124/albums/5798524523735406801?banner=pwa
4. What can we say about JSS? Only that our JSS Director Greg Verrill has done a yeomans job getting this program well established. I know our District loves Greg too.
5. I still can not get over how Jim Truitt quarterbacked our entry in the SkillsUSA family.
6. FREDI and TOM got married as did Laura and Steve Lamson of the Electrocutioners. Is there some thing in the TnT sausages?
7. Rumor has it that ETO is throwing its Best Ever Christmas Party.
8. Jeanette and Ken Nay are doing well.
9. We have two new Team Leaders Mark Knowlton of the Brandon Electric Eagles and David Henderson of the mighty stalwarts King High Electric Lions. Welcome to the Electrathon family.
10. Vic Nieves is taking up a journalistic career now that he is retired.
11. Everyone is anxious to see if the new kids on the block ProEv will finally subdue the Executioners. I would not however count out Jim Robinsons SBR or Granddaddy Schrecks Tiger Racing.
