After a quick search and a double check on the rules I was unable to find anything on windshields. I am just a bit curious as to what other people are using. Are you guys using polycarbonate or something cheaper? I am looking at .118 to .177 inch thicknesses as they are reasonably priced and seem to "Look about right."
I understand that canopy type is a large factor in design choice, so to give you guys a clearer image of what I'm looking at doing, I am planning on doing something like an F-16 Canopy with blow-molding and maybe with a two piece female mold. The canopy shouldn't be much more than 3 feet long and will be less than a foot and half wide by a foot tall.
My instinct is to go for the thicker .177 thickness, but is that enough? Should I go thicker? Thinner?
