So are the other races after the MHCC race going to be a first come first serve for the starting line up?  Or is there going to be a bracket type deal for how you finished the last race, that is where you'll start for the next one?  Or pick pole positions out of a hat or something?

A long time ago (electron run days) we used to line up per our finish order the week before.  The last few years we have been using first come/first in line.  It has helped get people to the line, we used to have a hard time starting on time.

It is really up to the person who is runing the individual race what method they use.  The Hood river Race is Jeff Blackman, so it is his choice.  I am open to either method, as long as the starting flag drops on time.

I thought I might ask the question, just curious.  Thanks for the response Aaron.

Feel free to contact Jeff and ask him. You are the second person in the last couple weeks that has asked me this.

In the Tampa area we draw numbers out of a hat. Sometimes by car numbers hi to low then low to high for the second race.
In either case the race marshal drops the flag at the exact starting time.  Not on the grid?   You get to start the race already behind.

I have sometimes started late, depending on whom I feel is at fault for the delay.  I has many times dropped the flag on time and required a racer to start late.  I did this once with one of my own students.  He was goofing off and heat one lined up and started (he was the only one not there).  He strolled up to the start line and informed me he was going to run in heat two instead of heat one since we started without him.  We had a heated discussion for a short time till I convinced him he was loosing valuable time talking to me about it, he was in heat one, period!  Funning now to look back on it, it was pathetic then.
