It was race number 5 of the season in Tampa. Held at my favorite track USF. We set a course record with 76 laps, 3 more than last year, when we set the record. Our unbeaten streak continues
If you can get the results from the race post them in your threads too. I am going to move all of your threads into the next category down, "post about a specific race" in a day or two. That way they will be easily located in the future.
Aaron, could you add a category for the post about race section? Maybe separate the 2010 races from 2011 races possibly? I think that would help a little.
Do you know the length of the track or the average MPH for your car. Would be interesting to see how Florida is doing on tight tracks compared to others on tight tracks.

If we could all get measurements off the tracks this might be a fun cross country contest. We could take the top 5 cars from each area and compare them to the other areas, average track speed, distance traveled, or ?.
Here is a gif of the USF course. It is 1480' long with 11 turns. DrewJet's average speed was 21.3 mph. According to a spread sheet I developed (on our website under documents) I do not think 80 laps will ever be exceeded based on the maxiumum roller over calculations.
On a related note we are having our biggest race ever at the Florida State Fair Grounds in Tampa. We are expecting 19 electrathons and 10 Junior Solar Sprint teams-- something which we have have incorporated to feed electrathoneers in Electrathon Racing.
I have also been talking to the Gulf Power Engineering Society who puts on the Pensacola Race about creating a region org. They seem amendable. We also did a flash race on the Sunday afer Pensacola in Tallahassee at the local Automobile Museum as a way to get things rolling in Tallahassee. Our biggest problem as alway has been money for our teams but we are hoping that might end after we get SkillsUSA eligible this summer.
Lastly we are racing in Quitman Georgia on May 14. I will be testing out a pushbutton lap counting system which with two people pushing buttons and a 3rd person calling out the cars we will be able to track 16 cars on a display.

We have an excell spreadsheet we could send you that does that. Car # is yelled out, then two separate people (for accuracy) enter the number into the number keypad. With only 16 cars there this sort of a system works very well (we used it for about 5 years here).
Please send me the the spreadsheet. I am interested in seeing it. Procedurally we are using 3 people as well and one laptop supporting two pushbutton stations connected to the laptop serially over USB tracking 16 cars total. When a button is pushed for a specific car the lap count is incremented by one and the entry is time stamped and auto saved. The info also goes to a large display connected to the same laptop which makes it easier for people to see with out looking over someone's shoulder. We also have a wireless access point where our DJ can tie in and also see the data for announcement purposes. I am going to the QuitMan Ga Race to test it. We will cross check our data with the Quitman Score Keepers. It is uses 2 Programmable Logic Controllers and cost me about $250 total to build not counting the laptop or the display. Hopefully it will all work as planned. I'll let you know.
