I'm new to this site, and probably posting this in the wrong place. Here is my dilema. Three fellow class mates and I are building an electrathon vehicle as our senior design project and we have to enter it into a race, we had planned to enter the Hood River race on April 14th but that is the same weekend as our Fundamentals of Engineering exam. I haven't been able to find any races close. We are located in Butte Montana but we can travel within a reasonable distance. If anyone has any race schedules or can let me know of a website, we would greatly appreciate it.
If you are close enough to get to the Mt Hood race you will be able to reach quite a few this year. There should be a race in Tri-Cities WA this spring too. One will be in Lacy WA. The schedule is currently being set up, but if you use last years schedule you will likely be very close to how it will lay out for this year. Within a month or so we should know more (I am refering to the NW races here only).

March 17th--Mount Hood CC--Gresham April 7th--Mapleton at the closed Davidson Mill April 14th--Hood River--downtown April 21st--no race as the Skills USA weekend is that weekend April 28th--Pasco, WA at the Columbia CC May 5th--Lacey WA May 12th--Springfield at Agnes Stewart Middle school May 19th--Lane CC in Eugene May 26th and 27th--Portland International Raceway with two races each day (long and short tracks)

I'm sure it is like the past and no preregistration is due. You do need to be an electrathon America member but if not i can take your registration and membership fees there and pass them on to Aimee when I get back to Eugene. I drive up the night before and sleep in the truck. Most of our kids do the same sleeping in their cars, our trailer or renting motels. The race inspections etc. get going about 8:30 with the actual races at 11:00 to noon and a second heat from 12:30 to 1:30. With award and door prized to follow.
Looking forward to meeting all of you and seeing your car. If you need any tools etc. when there come to the big white truck, 28' double decker trailer, and the many Eelctrathon vehicles and ask for almost anything you need.
Just one more question about the race inspections, what types of inspections are done? Just wondering if we are going to be using our batteries to power our car to perform tests before the race? If so we might try to get a different set of batteries so we have a fresh set in our car for the race. Thanks for all your help, we are starting to get excited to see how everything works out.
You do not need batteries for inspection. It is good to have extras though if you want to practice, which is a good idea. Most of the inspection is visual looking for rules you violated or shortcut.
