This year the fee for the Memorial race weekend will be lowered to $20 fo rthe short track and $20 for the long track. Each race will have two days of racing. This is the lowest cost ever for PIR.
The link is to the race schedule. We share the track with the OHPV group. Plan on being at the track early. You will be able to practice Saturday morning after you are signed in and inspected. Every year there is a two hour window to practice in, and every year I have people come up to me after the bikes are on the track, wanting to practice. You will not be able to practice after they are on the track.
Might be a stretch as I know PIR is a big race, but if anyone has a spare car, I'd love to drive. I've got a great racing resume, and am anxious to get back into an electrathon car!
I'm obviously not in high school, so looking for a car to run in the open class.

Aaron, On the schedule they have it as 'open class' and 'high school class' Will High school become short track and open long track???
We will run like we did last year. Open and high school will change to short and long track. All cars will share the track togeather durring both races.
Which race is first on Saturday?? If I remember right it is short track then long on Sat. and on Sun it is long and then short. But I might be backwards. For cars doing both, they want to figure out what gearing to set it up for 1st. Thanks, Mike
On Saturday we will do the long track first, then the short track.
On Sunday the short track first, then the long track.
Also I haev word that we can be in the track on Friday evening to camp only. You might have to pay to get past the gate though because of the drag races. that is totally up to the drag race guys, I have no influance over that.
I want to stress how important it is to get to the track early. You can practice as soon as you are inspected. Every year I have numerous people goof off all morning and then want to practice when the bike guys are racing. Not going to work that way.
We will open the front gate as soon as we wake up in the morning, usually about 7:00. w have a lot to set up with the track and will start inspections as early as we can. then you will have about 2 hours to practice, keeping in mind that it is a shared track with the bike guys and cars may be crossing to the pit area. Practice with caution and courtesy.
Heads up for teams coming from Washington: according to my dad, he said that Interstate 5's bridge is going to be closed crossing the Columbia from 11:00pm-7:00am tonight and tomorrow morning. The only other way to get into Oregon is Interstate 205. Give yourself an extra 20-30 minutes if you still want to get to PIR on time to get cars and/or batteries preped for the race at 12:15pm tomorrow.
Hope to see most people tomorrow at PIR, got to get back to working on my car now. See ya!
I just got home 10 minutes ago with 10 cars loaded and ready to go and one driven up by his team. At least 2 cars doing both long and short track. So I owe you for 13 registrations---$240. See you tomorrow a little before 8:00. I'll stop on my way through and give you the flags, clock, measuring wheel for the short track, table and chairs if you need them, LCC and state trophies, cones, etc. You do have the paperwork boxes right???!?!?!!!??
Geat to say another race season is behindus. YEA! We get Saturdays back.
The PIR race was bigger again this year. We are gtting close to the numbers of cars in the NW from the old days of the PGE Electrathon run. I was only at the track for a short time this year (I had surgery a week ago so hard to stay on my feet). Mark Watts and I usually do this race togeather but great thanks to him for stepping up and handling it on his own. For the most part the race went very well. Thank you Mark.
Feel free to post memories, thoughts or suggestionsfor next year in the thread.
