PROPOSED CHANGE (2/10/13): There needs to be wording added to the lap counting section (page 35) allowing/encouraging the use of an electronic counting system.
-There were reported problems and delays at races where cars took out timing wires at finish lines. There is also a safety consideration as some car designs experienced loss of steering or braking when nose cone was down. This will also provide inspectors and builders with a more uniform tangible device to ensure compliance.
