Our team worked very hard to be ready for the Pensacola Electrathon.
We simply cannot wait to get the next season off to a start after a restful summer.
Meetings were each, every evening of the week as we did not operate in the form of a class. We are an after school activity and yet we feel so accomplished as we involved so many students, parents and businesses.
We went from planning to design to prototype and finally to testing and improving.
Our kids worked hard to earn the trip and when it was all done they all had lots of fun.
Our alternative energy team went beyond expectations and supplied all the power needed to run both electric cars.
In fact, our electric team commented that this kind of power was so much better than what comes off the power lines. It just seems to have had more "juice" and it simply made our batteries far more robust in their performance.
We plan to power a small home with this system and we plan to make improvements to it for our next race.
Participating in this Electrathon has allowed our Green Energy Team to prove itself.
We welcome the chance to display and explain our power system because it involves much of the mathematics we teach school.
