We are doing the constant velocity power calculations for both our cars and the students are writing a report for the construction of the second car. First they accurately weighed the vehicles and then they did a series of rolling resistance tests to calc the mechanical term ( W * Crr). The goal is to find the cd coefficient of drag for both cars. We have a student, Sean Salazar, working with an local SAME engineer to do a virtual wind tunnel on Solid Works. this will validate the formula and calculations. Ovall the team wants to look at the aero term and see if they can improve it. They will post there data when they finish. We hope to encourage other teams to do the same.
