The Corvallis daVinci Days race is back!! We will be racing at Reeser Stadium both Saturday and Sunday, July 20 & 21, on the same 1/2 mile track we have the last several years. The course has some tight corners but is nearly flat. The winning cars have between 24 and 27 mph the last few years. We will race Counter Clockwise the Saturday and Clockwise on Sunday. More information coming but hold those dates open and come have fun at the race as well as the festival both days featuring Kinetic Sculpture races, great music, and tons of other fun!!!
Schedules for both Saturday and Sunday:
Inspections start by 8:15
Practice after inspections until 10:15
Driver's meeting at 10:15
1st heat at 11:00 to noon Probably only one heat with 20 to 30 cars.
2nd heat (if needed) from 12:30 to 1:30
Awards after the last heat
I think that the entrance fee for this is $15 per car but am not positive....still working on the details as I am the host but daVinci Days is in charge of the money stuff. I think every registered car gets one weekend pass to the daVinci days event and they are working on some lap money and door prizes but I don't have anything firm. I will update this and emails as I find out more for sure. I will also send out an email to all NW racers about the event.
I AM IN THE NEED FOR ANY VOLUNTEERS I CAN GET!!!
-WE WILL NOT HAVE CENTENNIAL'S ELECTRONIC LAP COUNTING SYSTEM SO NEED SOME HELP WITH TALLY MARKS ETC.
-CAN ALWAYS USE MORE INSPECTORS
-FLAGGERS ARE ALWAYS NEEDED AND APPRECIATED
-SET UP AND TAKE DOWN IS A JOB THAT GOES EASIER WITH LOTS OF HANDS.
Please let me know if you are coming and about how many cars you are bringing so I can get a rough head count for daVinci Days.
As per our phone conversation I am planning on being there to volunteer (Diane too hopefully, and maybe even Ian)
I am planning on bringing both cars... just not sure if I'll be driving... family wants me to "clear it" with Orthopedic Doc first... (fingers crossed!!!)
see you all there....
Ron aka "hop-along" or "the pirate" (you'll understand when you see my "peg leg" @ the race)
Below are the results for the DaVinci Days race on Jule 20th and 21st in Corvallis. Wish more teams/cars had showed up you all missed a great weekend of a fun race and great festival.
