These are the final standings for the NW High school race series. We have 7 one day races in Oregon and Washington. We drop the worst finish so only count the best 6 races. Your place earned is entered for each race and the lowest total points at the end of the season is the winner. If you don't come to a race you earn one place more than the last place car. This year Hood River Valley's car #27-driver Adam McCaw and Willamette High's Car #110-drivers Nick Swanson/Drew Clemments tied at the end of the season to earn co-champions. The 3rd place car had over 3 times as many points as these cars over the course of the season.
I accidentally left off one of our cars that just made the last race and broke on the first lap so car #99 from WHS was 53rd in the NW. We also had one car that was finished two weeks ago but the team could not make any of the races so they it did not race. I heard there are several teams that have cars that are done or nearly done that did not race this year. We are hoping that some of these can make the next race which is a 4 races in 2 days event at Portland International Raceway. There is a long Indy style 2 mile race that will be won at ~44 mph each day and a 1 mile 'short' track rally style that will be won at over 35 mph each day.
In addition to the 53 student vehicles that raced and the several that have not made a race yet, we have had over 20 adult vehicles that race most years. We think we will have around 65-70 cars total compete at PIR this coming weekend.
