Building an aluminum frame question

We are building an aluminum frame this year. Is the aluminum strong enough to be used for the roll cage? We are using 1" x 1/8" wall thickness.

If done correctly, yes. Make sure to have your forward or rearward triangles. If you are concerned that its not safe enough you can either use thicker aluminium, or just make it a double roll-bar and add extra reinforcements.
