I am somewhat new to the organisation and considering building a car for the 2019 season. I looked over this website and did a google search for a schedule but all I find is the occasional mention of events in years gone by. I watched a few Utubes and it looks like fun but if there's only a couple of races nearby it's not worth the trouble and expense. I'm in the NW and used to ride in the HPV races in May at PIR so I know about that event. What other events usually happen within about 300 miles of Portland, OR?
Probably a good idea to contact your local / regional electrathon coordinator, im in FL we have a race schedule out at the beginning of the school season, im sure there is something similar where you are.
Mike Hodgert here. I am retired from teaching but still involved in electrathon on the national Board and NW area. I am sure we saw each when you were with HPV at PIR--I am the bald guy that had the most cars and always had pits down by the foot bridge end.
We are working on a schedule for this spring. Since I left my replacement is not putting on as many races as I used to. We have the following generally set out at this time. The hosts need to contact the sites to secure dates, get insurance, etc.
--First race of the 2019 season--Lane Community College in Eugene--around March 16th
--McMinville go-cart track around April 13th
--Monroe Oregon on city streets about April 27th
--McMinville go-cart track (opposite direction) around May 11th
--PIR long and short course race each day of Saturday 25th and Sunday May 26th
Hope to see your creation at the races this season...I will miss the March race but should be able to make the rest.
