Hello there, I'm new to this forum, and I need some help. I am currently working on one of the electrathon cars, and I don't know what to use as ballast weights. I you guys could help out by sending links, that would be much appreciated.

It would depend on how close or far you are from 180 lbs. Personally my favorite is cookies, but that might now work for everyone. Some teams that are close to the weight will use ankle weights or diver's belts. My team would bolt in iron weights to the car and change or remove them depending on the driver.

Just know it has to be removable so it can we weighed.

It's usually a good idea to determine where in the car the ballast can/will be placed and then see what you can fit in that spot. Mounting the weight as low as possible is always best for handling and stability purposes. Steel plate makes good ballast and can frequently be placed underneath the driver's seat where it is out of the way during the race but readily accessible during inspection.

And welcome to the forum!

We love new faces on here so don't be afraid to ask more questions.

sorry to "jump on the wagon" so late...
out here in the northwest a lot of us use weights from barbells and weight machines..
just weld a bolt to your frame somewhere and a washer and wingnut holds them in the car (remember losing ballast in a race = disqualification)
